Who We Are
Urbfind is operated by ALL DISTRICT JEANS Inc. ("ALL DISTRICT JEANS," "we," "us," or "our"), a company based in Canada.
For certain jurisdictions, ALL DISTRICT JEANS Inc. acts as the "controller," "business," "organization," or equivalent entity responsible for determining how personal information is processed. For certain processing activities carried out on behalf of another party, we may instead act as a service provider, processor, or equivalent role.
Eligibility — 18 Years or Older Only
Urbfind is intended for use only by individuals who are 18 years of age or older. This applies equally to Shopper accounts and Store accounts, and to anyone acting on behalf of a Store — for example, an employee or contractor creating posts for a business.
By creating an Urbfind account, or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old.
Urbfind does not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to register for an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information and close the associated account.
If you believe a person under 18 has created an Urbfind account or otherwise provided us with personal information, contact us using the details in Section 36 so we can investigate.
About Urbfind
Urbfind is a global platform that connects local businesses ("Stores") with nearby shoppers ("Shoppers") through visual posts, including photographs, promotions, sales, clearance items, new products, offers, events, and other business-related content.
Stores may create a profile and publish posts containing products, sales, deals, promotions, clearance items, new arrivals, special offers, events, store displays and other business-related content. Shoppers may use Urbfind to discover Stores and posts near them.
To provide the core location-based functionality of Urbfind, the app requires users to grant access to their device's location services.
By creating an Urbfind account or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights and protections may apply to you under local law. Where applicable law provides rights or protections greater than those described in this Privacy Policy, we will comply with applicable law.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide to us directly, information generated as you use Urbfind, and information provided by your device or operating system.
4.1 Account Information
Because registration is required to use Urbfind, we may collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number, where provided
- Username
- Password or authentication credentials
- Account type — Shopper or Store
- Profile information, including a profile photo
- Account preferences
- Other information you choose to provide
4.2 Store Information
Store accounts may provide additional information, including:
- Store name, category, type and description
- Store address and location
- Store phone number and email address
- Website and social media information
- Store profile photo and cover/banner image
- Business hours
- Products, services, promotions, sales, deals and clearance information
- Other information voluntarily provided by the Store
A Store profile may contain information that is publicly visible to other Urbfind users. Store owners are responsible for ensuring that the information they publish is accurate and that they have the necessary rights to publish photographs, logos, trademarks and product information.
4.3 Photos, Posts & Other Content
Stores may upload photographs and other visual content, including product photos, store photos, promotional graphics, sale advertisements, clearance displays, logos, profile photos and cover images. Content published by a Store may be displayed publicly or to other Urbfind users according to the functionality of the Service.
Stores should not upload personal, confidential, sensitive, financial, medical, government-issued identification, authentication, or other information they do not intend to make available through the Service.
4.4 Information From Shoppers
Shoppers may provide name, email address, username, profile information, account preferences, location information, search and browsing activity, and other information voluntarily provided through the Service.
Shoppers do not currently have the ability to upload photographs or posts to Urbfind, unless we introduce that functionality in the future.
4.5 Activity Data Urbfind Generates
As you use Urbfind, the app also generates records of your activity, including:
- Stores a Shopper follows, and the Shoppers who follow a Store
- Posts a Shopper saves
- Items added to your in-app shopping list — kept to help us understand shopping habits and improve local discovery; this list is not shared with Stores
- Notification preferences, such as alerts for followed Stores or account-security notices
- Privacy preferences, including the "Do Not Sell or Share My Data" choice described in Section 34
- Content you report, and accounts or Stores you block — retained so we can review reports, enforce our policies and protect the safety of the Urbfind community
Location Information
5.1 Why Urbfind Uses Location
Location is fundamental to Urbfind. We use device-based location to determine the relationship between Stores and Shoppers in a geographic area — for example, to determine which Stores are near a Shopper, calculate approximate distance, display nearby posts, rank local content, improve local discovery, provide recommendations, analyze usage patterns, and detect fraud or abuse.
5.2 Precise Location
Urbfind may request access to precise device location through the location services provided by your device, which may include GPS-derived coordinates. Location access is required because location-based discovery is a fundamental feature of the Service — if you do not grant the required permission, you may not be able to use some or all Urbfind functionality. You may control location permissions through your device's operating-system settings, subject to the functionality Urbfind requires.
5.3 How Shoppers' Locations Are Used
A Shopper's precise location is not publicly displayed on Store profiles or posts. Urbfind uses a Shopper's location internally to calculate geographic proximity between the Shopper and Stores — for example, a Shopper may see that a Store is approximately "0.5 km away." The Store does not receive the Shopper's precise coordinates merely because the Shopper viewed that Store's post.
Shopper location flows: your device's GPS → Urbfind's distance calculation → what you see (e.g. "0.5 km away"). It does not flow: your device's GPS → the Store. Urbfind does not intend to publicly display a Shopper's precise location, home address, or real-time location to Stores or other Shoppers.
5.4 Store Locations
Stores may be required to provide a location to use posting functionality. Because shoppers need it to discover and visit a business, Store location — along with Store name, address, profile, photographs, posts and publicly provided contact information — may be displayed publicly. Stores should not publish a private residential address or other location they do not intend to make public.
Device & Technical Information
When you use Urbfind, we may automatically collect technical information such as IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, app version, device identifiers, language and regional settings, time zone, network information, approximate geographic information derived from IP address, login information, dates and times of access, crash reports, performance information, and diagnostic information. We use this information to operate, secure, maintain and improve Urbfind.
Usage & Interaction Information
We may collect information about how you interact with Urbfind, including posts and Stores viewed, searches, categories viewed, approximate interaction locations, time spent using features, screens visited, links or buttons selected, interactions with promotions, account activity, and other interactions with the Service. This information may be associated with your account or device, depending on the circumstances and applicable law.
Analytics
We may use information collected through Urbfind for analytics and measurement — to understand how users discover Stores, which content is useful, which locations have activity, how Stores use the platform, how Shoppers interact with posts, how features perform, and how we can improve the Service. Where possible, we use aggregated, statistical, de-identified, or otherwise appropriately protected information for these purposes. Where required by applicable law, certain analytics activities may require separate consent or an opt-out mechanism.
Advertising & Marketing
We may use information collected through Urbfind to provide advertising, measure and improve its relevance and effectiveness, develop advertising products, help Stores reach relevant local audiences, and analyze user and Store trends. We may use advertising and analytics technologies provided by third-party service providers for these purposes.
Where applicable law requires consent for personalized advertising, tracking, or sharing personal information for advertising purposes, we will provide the appropriate choice or consent mechanism — see Section 34.
Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence
We may use information collected through Urbfind to develop, train, evaluate, test, improve, and operate machine-learning, recommendation, search, ranking, moderation, and other automated technologies that help us improve search, recommend relevant Stores or posts, categorize content, detect spam or fraud, improve safety, and develop new Urbfind features. Where appropriate and permitted by law, we may use aggregated, anonymized, de-identified, or pseudonymized information for these purposes.
Information you voluntarily provide to Urbfind may be processed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy — including analytics, product improvement, advertising, and machine-learning purposes — subject to applicable law and any choices or rights available to you (see Section 12 and Section 34). You should not provide information you do not want processed for these purposes.
Don't Submit Sensitive Information
Urbfind is not designed to collect sensitive personal information through public posts, and users are responsible for the information they choose to provide. Do not upload, publish, or voluntarily provide sensitive or confidential information unless Urbfind specifically requests it through an appropriate mechanism — for example: government ID or passport numbers, driver's licence information, financial account or credit-card information, passwords or authentication codes, medical information, private correspondence, precise information about another person's location, or information belonging to another person without authorization.
Required vs. Optional Processing
Rather than treating every use of your information the same way, Urbfind separates processing that is necessary to run the Service from processing you can opt out of.
- Account information (Section 4.1)
- Location processing needed for core discovery (Section 5)
- Security, fraud and abuse prevention
- Core platform functionality — posts, storefronts, search
- Personalized / targeted advertising
- Non-essential analytics
- Certain third-party tracking or data sharing
- Certain machine-learning training uses, where law requires separate consent
You can manage optional processing at any time from Settings → Privacy Preferences in the Urbfind app (see Section 34). Turning off optional processing will not affect your ability to use Urbfind's core discovery features. Declining required processing — for example, location access — may limit or prevent your ability to use those features, as explained in Section 5.
How We Use Personal Information
Subject to applicable law, we may use personal information to: create and manage accounts; authenticate users; provide Urbfind's location-based services; display nearby Stores and posts; calculate distance between Stores and Shoppers; maintain Store profiles and publish Store content; personalize the experience; provide search and discovery; analyze platform usage; improve Urbfind and develop new features; train and improve machine-learning systems; provide and measure advertising; detect and prevent fraud, spam and abuse; protect the security of Urbfind; troubleshoot technical problems; communicate with users about the Service; comply with legal obligations; enforce our Terms of Service; protect our rights and property; facilitate future optional paid services; and carry out other purposes disclosed to you at the time of collection or otherwise permitted by applicable law.
Legal Bases for Processing — European Users
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another jurisdiction requiring a lawful basis for processing, we may rely on one or more of the following, depending on the circumstances.
Performance of a contract — processing necessary to provide the Urbfind Service you requested.
Consent — for specific activities, including certain location processing, personalized advertising, cookies, or analytics where consent is legally required. Consent may be withdrawn where applicable.
Legitimate interests — where necessary for interests such as platform security, fraud prevention, service improvement, analytics, business administration, and product development, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Legal obligation — where necessary to comply with applicable law. The specific lawful basis applicable to a given processing activity depends on the circumstances.
Sharing Information
We do not publicly disclose a Shopper's precise GPS location simply because they use Urbfind. We may share information with:
Service providers — third-party companies providing cloud hosting, data storage, analytics, authentication, security, customer support, content delivery, machine-learning infrastructure, advertising technology, payment processing, and other technical infrastructure. These providers process personal information on our behalf, under appropriate contractual arrangements.
Store partners — we may provide Stores with aggregated, statistical, or appropriately protected information about platform activity. We will not intentionally disclose a Shopper's precise GPS location to a Store merely because that Shopper viewed the Store's content.
Legal and regulatory authorities — where reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect users, investigate fraud, protect our rights or the security of the Service, or prevent illegal activity.
Corporate transactions — information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets, reorganization, bankruptcy, or similar transaction.
Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
Urbfind does not intend to sell a Shopper's precise GPS coordinates to Stores. However, depending on the services and technologies we use, certain disclosures to advertising or analytics partners may constitute a "sale," "sharing," "targeted advertising," or similar activity under certain privacy laws.
Urbfind provides an in-app control for this: Settings → Privacy Preferences → Do Not Sell or Share My Data. Turning this on tells Urbfind not to sell or share your personal information in ways that would otherwise require this choice under applicable law.
California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, may provide you with rights to know what personal information we collect and how it's used; request access to it; request deletion, subject to exceptions; request correction of inaccurate information; opt out of certain sales or sharing of personal information and certain targeted advertising; limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable; and receive equal treatment for exercising these rights.
California law recognizes precise geolocation as sensitive personal information, and provides specific rights concerning its use and disclosure.
You can exercise the right to opt out of sale/sharing directly in the app via Settings → Privacy Preferences, or by submitting a request to us using the contact details in Section 36. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
Canadian Privacy Rights
If you are located in Canada, applicable federal or provincial privacy laws may give you rights to know what personal information we hold about you, understand how we collect, use and disclose it, request access, request correction of inaccurate information, withdraw consent where legally permitted, challenge our privacy practices, and make a complaint to the applicable privacy regulator.
Canadian privacy principles generally emphasize accountability, identifying purposes, meaningful consent, limiting collection, limiting use and disclosure, retention, safeguards, openness, access, and complaint mechanisms.
EEA, United Kingdom & Switzerland
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, applicable data-protection law may give you the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, rights concerning automated decision-making and profiling, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
European rules also require transparency regarding processing purposes, legal bases, categories of information, retention, recipients, international transfers, and applicable rights.
International Data Transfers
Urbfind is a global platform, so your personal information may be processed or stored in countries other than the one where you live, which may have different data-protection laws. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use legally recognized transfer mechanisms and appropriate contractual, technical, or organizational safeguards — for example, Brazil's LGPD and its international-transfer regulations impose specific requirements in this area.
Australia
Where Australian privacy law applies to our processing of your information, we will handle it in accordance with applicable requirements, including the relevant Australian Privacy Principles — covering matters such as transparency, collection, use and disclosure, direct marketing, cross-border disclosures, security, access, and correction.
Brazil
Where Brazilian data-protection law applies, we will process personal information in accordance with applicable provisions of the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados Pessoais (LGPD), including requirements concerning international data transfers, legal bases, transparency, security, and data-subject requests, where applicable.
Other Jurisdictions
If you use Urbfind from a jurisdiction with additional privacy requirements — including Japan, South Korea, India and others — we intend to comply with applicable local privacy and data-protection laws, which may address consent, notice, location information, sensitive information, retention, international transfers, access and deletion, correction, portability, marketing, automated processing, and data security. Additional jurisdiction-specific notices may be provided where required.
Cookies & Similar Technologies
Urbfind may use cookies, software development kits (SDKs), pixels, tags, local storage, device identifiers, and similar technologies for authentication, security, analytics, performance monitoring, personalization, advertising, fraud prevention, and measuring campaigns. Where required by law, we will request consent before placing or using non-essential technologies.
Third-Party Services
Urbfind may use third-party services for cloud infrastructure, analytics, authentication, mapping and location, advertising, machine learning, data processing, customer support, payment processing, security, and app distribution. These third parties process information according to their own privacy policies and their contractual obligations to us. We encourage users to review the privacy practices of third-party services when appropriate.
Future Paid Services
Urbfind may introduce paid services in the future, for Stores or other users. If payment functionality is introduced, payment information will be processed by third-party payment processors — unless stated otherwise, Urbfind does not intend to store complete payment-card information on its own systems where a specialized payment provider can handle it instead. Before introducing paid services, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide additional disclosures where required by law.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy — to provide the Service, maintain accounts, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, maintain security, improve the Service, and maintain legitimate business records. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the purpose it was collected for. When information is no longer required, we delete, anonymize, aggregate, or otherwise securely dispose of it, subject to applicable law.
Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your Urbfind account by contacting us using the details in Section 36. When an account is deleted, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize the personal information associated with it, subject to legal obligations, fraud prevention, security requirements, dispute resolution, enforcement of agreements, and other legally permitted exceptions. Public Store content may be treated differently from personal account information where necessary to operate the platform or comply with legal requirements.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, misuse, alteration, and destruction — including encryption, access controls, authentication, monitoring, logging, secure infrastructure, data minimization, and security testing. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
Data Breaches
If we experience a security incident involving personal information, we will assess it and take the steps required by applicable law — which, where legally required, may include notifying affected users, regulators, law-enforcement authorities, or other appropriate parties.
Your Responsibility for Information
You are responsible for the information you choose to provide through Urbfind. Provide accurate information, avoid providing unnecessary sensitive information, avoid publishing another person's personal information without permission, and avoid uploading content containing information you don't have the right to publish. Stores in particular should review photographs and promotional material carefully before publishing.
Public Information
Certain information provided by Stores is intended to be publicly visible — name, address, location, profile and cover images, description, products, deals, sales, clearance information, promotional posts, and any contact information designated as public. Once information is made public, it may be viewed, copied, indexed, or redistributed by others, so consider carefully what you make publicly available.
Automated Processing & Profiling
Urbfind may use automated systems, algorithms, machine learning, and profiling technologies to recommend content, rank posts, organize search results, determine geographic relevance, detect spam and fraud, improve advertising, and personalize the experience. Where required by applicable law, we will provide information about relevant automated decision-making and applicable rights. We do not intend for automated processing to make decisions about users that produce legal or similarly significant effects, unless permitted by applicable law and subject to appropriate safeguards.
Your Choices & Controls
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have choices concerning location access, marketing, personalized advertising, cookies, analytics, certain data sharing, account information, deletion, correction, and consent. Some choices may affect your ability to use features that depend on the relevant information — for example, disabling device location will prevent Urbfind from providing its core location-based discovery functionality.
Do Not Sell or Share My Data — you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, including for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising, at any time from Settings → Privacy Preferences → Do Not Sell or Share My Data in the Urbfind app. This is available to both Shopper and Store accounts. See Section 16 and Section 17.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, because of new features or services, changes to technology or business practices, changes to applicable law, or changes to third-party or advertising/analytics services. When we make material changes, we will provide additional notice where required by applicable law. The updated Privacy Policy will be published with a new "Last Updated" date.
